Microphone and tuning data

After you grant microphone access, the app analyzes live audio to identify pitch, frequency and tuning deviation. Audio is used only for immediate analysis on your device. No recording file is created, and audio is not sent to the developer. The current pitch and in-tune status for a session are used only while the app is running; we do not create a recording history or tuning profile.

You can turn off microphone access in iOS Settings. Without it, live pitch detection is unavailable, but reference tones can still play. The app stops listening when it moves to the background.

Settings stored on your device

The app stores your instrument choice, tuning, custom notes, reference frequency, tuning tolerance, automatic string detection and sound cue preferences, along with whether you completed the first-run guide. This lets the app restore your preferences next time. We do not upload these settings to a developer server.

These settings remain until you change them or delete the app's local data. Deleting the app from your device, rather than offloading it while keeping data, removes its local data.

Subscriptions, accounts and other services

The app does not require registration or sign-in, and does not ask for your name, email address or phone number. You can subscribe annually through Apple's App Store to remove ads. Apple handles payment, renewal and purchase records. The app uses StoreKit only to verify whether a subscription is active and does not receive your payment information. We do not use a separate app-usage analytics service.

Advertising and Google AdMob

The app uses Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to show banner ads. The ad service requires an internet connection. Google may collect and process your IP address (which may indicate an approximate location), device or app identifiers, ad impressions and clicks, and diagnostic information such as crash logs and performance data. This supports ad delivery, measurement, analysis and service improvement. The data actually processed depends on SDK configuration, device permissions and your privacy choices. We do not provide microphone audio to the ad service.

We use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage advertising consent and show notices where applicable.

Once an ad-removal subscription is active and verified, the app stops requesting and displaying ads. Google handles previously received data under its own privacy policy; subscribing does not automatically delete data already processed. We will update this page when app features or data practices change. If a change requires renewed consent, we will notify you as applicable.

Support contact and website visits

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you provide about your issue. We use it only to handle your request and reply. Please do not send passwords, full payment details or unrelated sensitive information. You may use the same email address to request access to or deletion of support correspondence; we will handle requests as applicable.

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. We do not add ads, analytics scripts or tracking cookies to the site. The hosting provider may process access logs, such as IP addresses, to provide and secure the service. See GitHub's Privacy Statement. This website does not access your microphone.
